Live to die at home!

Courtesy

Dim sparks of last hope
Writhing soul pleads to be free
Live to die at home

Death is like soul changing clothes ? Why does it matter if it's at home or someplace else i wonder. I have seen a lot of people wishing they die in the familiarity of their home, they have lived forever in. Why and how does that give the satisfaction of leaving i muse!

This Haiku is written for THE MAG and the Haiku Heights.

  1. Yes, I wonder why it matters. The river is the same no matter where one boards the craft.

  9. Perhaps the arms of love felt sweetly, rather then the grips of baren walls screaming of pain and anguish... one can only wonder? :)

  10. You have touched a chord with me. Home is surely, for some, the best place to die.! Well done!

  11. There's no place like home, in the comfort of your own bed, surrounded by those you love, where all of the sounds and smells are familiar. Pictures, music, foods are not the same at the hospital. I love your haiku, Pranita, and your thoughts about the soul. Thank you for sharing. =D

  12. Home has so many meanings... Some wish to die where they live, others where they grew up, others believe home is where the heart is, but they happened not to be attached to the one who owns their heart, so where is home.

    Thought provoking...

  16. This is such a lovely haiku ... home, surrounded by loved ones is best, though we don't always get a choice.

  18. My parents did not want to die in a nursing home, but in their own home. Blessedly, they got their wish. No tubes and machines and strangers and antiseptic smells for them!
